Anatomia / Ruin

This LP was found in the pack from Left Hand Patches rec. Usually, we don`t review death metal stuff, but this record is so good that I can’t handle skipping such release. This stuff is ugly in a good way (of course), raw, gloomy with some doom taste. It has no blasting speed as modern death metal bands have, but this is how old-school death metal should sound! Maciej Kamuda Art (as always) created a really awesome art for this split, he caught all dark vibrations from both bands and transformed everything into a drawing (talented guy). And now let`s spin this mf!

Japanese Anatomia started with slow but really heavy riffs, this opening song is very atmospheric, love it! The guys recorded only 3 songs, but the result is very positive. The production is nice and the sound is well balanced. Strong vocal work, these growl sounds like a beast roaring from the dark! The fast parts (like in “Carnal Mutilation”) sound like an automatic burst, fast, loud and in the end, you will be totally buried by the sound and energy!

The US veterans Ruin gives us 4 songs with super low and monstrous sound! The main and sick difference from other bands is their super down-tuned bass guitar. Guys set it in the front place (like in the punk genre), the result is incredible, this sound simply flips the guts inside of you, haha! Generally, the sound is a bit raw, exactly how I love it. These tracks also have good guitar riffs and ultra sick vocals! I think this is one of the best US death metal acts that I heard so far!

Strongly recommended by GGGG!
