Concrete Caveman – Feral

It’s always sunny in Philadelphia, huh? Looks more like it’s always ground in Phily! Here is Concrete Caveman a nice band from that huge and lovely city, and today we’ll listen to their debut album “Feral”. This album has tags like “deathgrind”, but after a few spins, I can clearly say, that guys don’t give a fuck about genre frames. Personally, I love it, a young band with ambitions and personal ideas about extreme music, that what we have here. And art would be suitable for Concrete Caveman, right! An art with primitive cave creature, ha! We have a super match!

So as I said, these boys are jumping out of the framase of the genre. However you will hear a lot of death metal riffs and structures, they are more like the additions. One song starts with a heavy slamming breakdown and ends with punk-grindcore. And you know what? That’s what I love in this album. This is not a standard work, here every riff is predictable, that’s why it’s I got a lot of joy during the listening of “Feral”. Guys are not stopping on one riff or temp, they are pushing further, which is really great! Yes, there is always will be a next level, something that you can improve (better sound, faster blastbeat etc). But as for the debut full-length, I think the guys did really well!
