Electric Bath – Cutting Close

Let’s talk about new bands. Today’s heroes are a duo from Rochester/New York. Last year, the guys released their debut EP on Surrogate rec. This is a small and nasty work with only 9 songs, but you know what? I think this is really nice work, that deserves attention. Pay attention that “Cutting Close” was released as 3″ CD, personally, I love this format more than regular CDs + it’s much easier to store everything 😉

Hectic, loud and raw… that is how I can describe the music of this band. But with pleasant rawness, all songs have a nice moldy punk touch. And of course, it’s fun to listen to this material. This is a primitive noise (like many in this genre), with messy guitar riffs, but with a good groove and energy. Drums are not perfect either, but that is what I love in this EP… it’s honest not plastic/poser, recorded without supertechnical equipment and so on. “Cutting Close” brings you good emotions and that is the main thing! My personal fav track is “Torn”, this one has so many good riffs and tunes – ripper!
