Hades Mining Co. – Master Class In Filth

Rochester? New York? Noisecore? That’s right. Hades Mining Co. is not a fresh name in this genre but somehow I didn’t hear it before. Guys started in 1999 and during more than 20 years they released a lot of stuff. I received “Master Class In Filth” some time ago and always delayed listen to it, but it actually sounds much better than looks, haha! This small session was released on B-card format (weird-shaped cd which looks like a visit card), the cover was printed on a creepy old xerox machine… so it looks not tasty at all. But! The noise … Continue reading Hades Mining Co. – Master Class In Filth

Carbonized Innocents – Demo 2020

I may be late with this release but, I believe more of you need to listen to this demo. So we have here a 2 man project, Michele (guitar and vocal) is from Italy and Max (drums, bass and vox too) is from the USA. Obviously, it`s a virtual band, and it hard to run work this way, but the guys managed to create really decent material. The debut demo contains only 6 songs, but these tracks are bloody good.  As far as I remember this tuff was released by Acid Redux Productions (CDr) and Bloody Scythe Records (cassette), so … Continue reading Carbonized Innocents – Demo 2020

Violent Opposition / Prepare For The Mindscan

The USA grindcore scene is huge and nice, and it`s hard to cover/listen to all bands from that land… so I`m very grateful when the labels (or even bands themselves) help me with that. Today we have a cool split with Violent Opposition from Oakland (CA) and Prepare For The Mindscan from Buffalo (NY). All of them love to make grindcore, but they’re doing it in their own ways. Also, this 7″ has not the worst cover arts, especially I love V.O. side, this insect looks creepy and badass! Let`s roll in order and start with Oakland guys! We have … Continue reading Violent Opposition / Prepare For The Mindscan

Meth Leppard/ Infanticide

This year sucks, we`re all in a difficult situation now with all this virus stuff. But, I feel that 2021 will became a very reach with great records. We already have a lot of badass stuff and today I want to talk about another solid piece of grind. Today we`re going to listen to Meth Leppard/ Infanticide split EP. As you all know Australia is full of great bands and Meth Leppard is one of these. Guys always stayed on the line of their own style, and this recording session is not an exception. Guys simply toasted my mind with … Continue reading Meth Leppard/ Infanticide

Ruidosa Inconformidad – Agentes Contaminantes

Ruidosa Inconformidad  is a noisecore band from Chile. I believe, guys are active for 5 years already, and during that time they released a lot of lo-fi splits and eps… The “Agentes Contaminantes” is 6 minutes record from 2020. All this noise was released by Rotova Porojnina Records in a strange format (B/card, it`s a small shaped CDr). Musically… hmm, I didn`t find anything interesting here, it`s straight noisecore without any tricks. Poor improvisation with anger and raw sound. Don’t get me wrong guys are trying their best, but such noise is nothing special (even in comparison with Atrofia Cerebral). … Continue reading Ruidosa Inconformidad – Agentes Contaminantes

Grog / Namek

What do you know about the Portuguese grind scene? I bet not much, same as I, but this split must correct our ignorance. Both bands are pretty old, Grog started to grind at the beginning of 90th, Namek started their way in 1998. So as you can see we have here pretty experienced people… The cover art of this record is freaking amazing. The idea to combine old horror creatures with dictators… that is interesting and fresh. And of course, this art looks badass! But what is inside? Guys of the Grog start this madness. First of all, I want … Continue reading Grog / Namek

Neuro-Visceral Exhumation ‎– Thou Shalt Be Slaughtered

It finally happened! A brand new album of Brazilian legends NVE is here! I was really waiting for this piece of gore, and boom, we finally have the opportunity to listen to this beast! For those who love (like me) physical stuff, Eclectic production released this album in CD format (btw the design of it is really great). But you may ask, is this band still good after so long silence? I`ll say YES! This material is very strong and heavy. During the years NVE makes some line-up changes and now it`s Fred (all instruments) and Pierre De Palmas – … Continue reading Neuro-Visceral Exhumation ‎– Thou Shalt Be Slaughtered

Rancid – Kill Yourself

Today I want to show you this interesting tape of New Orleans crusters Rancid. This is their debut and it turned to be really great! I don`t know much about this band but the guys managed to create something nasty and very aggressive. Like the music, the tape looks raw too. It was made in a nice DIY way, all song titles were written by hand! The whole material was written in the best traditions of the genre! Lovely raw and dirty sound, simple riffs, and a ton of energy. This small tape is overdosed with d-beat, haha! The guitar … Continue reading Rancid – Kill Yourself

Daggra / Retortion Terror

We have here an interesting and beautiful split of two great grind bands. This release was pressed on a badass colored vinyl, Wise Grinds rec did its best with this record. It also has an unusual design, the main art looks different from regular grind arts… It`s even hard to find the right words to describe it. From one side they showed a werewolf from the other side oni (demon) and a poor metalhead who died (in happiness?))) Everything looks progressive (or like art-house if you want), but I think this image (with a bit of a chaotic mood) can … Continue reading Daggra / Retortion Terror

Expurgo / Pharmacist

Fresh and new, this split was a pretty mystery/secret until Psychocontrol rec uploaded it on its bandcamp (an only a small group of people knew about this release). That day I heard a lot of good words about this 7″, and that is not a surprise. Because both bands are good, they are experienced in the grind, so it was oblivious that the result will be a killer! Brazilian masters of noise are opening this party. Their decent grindcore is always pleasant for my ears. Great heavy sound, pumping energy, and memorable riffing. The guitar and bass tones are so … Continue reading Expurgo / Pharmacist

Deathtaker / Stevo Zigon

I don`t really know how to start with this one. This is a very noisy split tape with two bands from different corners of the world, Deathtaker from the USA and Stevo Zigon from Serbia. Both bands are new for me, so I don`t expect anything, because this is a true mystery for me. The tape looks (art, design ets) regular for hardcore/fastcore or powerviolence genre… nothing special. But everything was done really well. Let me start with Deathtaker. This is half grindcore, half hardcore act with very dirty sound. But this is a regular blasting band… from the very … Continue reading Deathtaker / Stevo Zigon

Crippled Fox – In The Name Of Thrash

Hungarian thrashcore warriors Crippled Fox are back with a brand new album! The long-awaited 4th full-length is here! Honestly, I really waited for this LP, because this band deserves my and your attention. Fast, aggressive, and full of energy, these guys know how to make and have fun! “In The Name Of Thrash” has bloody nice cover art, with all attributes of thrash culture. The fox looks like he is a big fan of Suicidal Tendencies, haha!  The heads in his hand are all 3 band members, so even the front cover of this album is full of fun, which … Continue reading Crippled Fox – In The Name Of Thrash

Seared – Demo

New Orleans is well known for its sludge/stoner bands, but what’s about grind? Here is one young band that I want to show you, boys and girls. A year ago Seared released this nice demo, I think this noise is worth your attention. Yes this release is short, 5 songs, and about 5 minutes in total… so what?) When I saw the cover art I thought I will face another gore/mince project, but I was wrong. This is strong, messy, and putrid grindcore. So let`s put this tape into the player! The production of this music is very DIY. The … Continue reading Seared – Demo

Recovery – Wrong Diagnosis Late Diagnosis

For the last few years, the Russian underground has increased with many interesting bands. And this Friday I want to talk about one young but promising squad from St. Petersburg – Recovery. This is a 3 piece band and this tape is their debut. Must say guys managed to surprise me with the sound quality and material. But let`s start in order. The design of this release is unusual. The cassette case is smaller than the standard one, it`s has a clear color. All arts are stickered on it, so it looks very cool and unboring. Inside I found all … Continue reading Recovery – Wrong Diagnosis Late Diagnosis

Kusari Gama Kill – Sedem Minút Kusargegege

Kusari Gama Kill – noisecore trio from the heart of Denmark. Today I want to talk about their last release “Sedem Minút Kusargegege”. The name of this EP is funny, it`s a combination of names Sedem Minut Strachu and Gerogerigegege. But this material doesn`t remind me of these bands. From the beginning, I don`t really get this material. It`s weird, short, and stupid. I but somewhere in the middle, I felt the hypnotic effect from this stuff, haha! Each song is only about a few seconds, with only a few words of text. That style reminds me legendary Seven Minutes … Continue reading Kusari Gama Kill – Sedem Minút Kusargegege

The Kids Taught Us Japanese – Battletoads/Shit Not Music

Do you love to discover bands from the deepest corners of the world? If New Caledonian grindcore is a usual thing for you here is noise from Lapland (this is a small region of Finland, yes that one where Santa live). The Kids Taught Us Japanese is a one-man-band project. The Bandcamp says that this is Finish one-man amphibian grindcore, after that, I remember Phyllomedusa, but I was wrong… I was not even close, ha! This is more or less a straight grind with some death metal taste. The covers of both EPs look like they were drawn by a … Continue reading The Kids Taught Us Japanese – Battletoads/Shit Not Music

PowerXChuck / Ghettö

Hail powerviolence and satan! Today I want to spin this beautiful split release with guys from Australia and France. Both bands proved themselves many times (ok Ghettö did it few times), their music is sick and fast. Also, both bands have their own vision of pv, which is awesome, which makes this split spicier! I think (pard me if I`m wrong) this psychedelic and bizarre art was made by Pogger Illustration. Guys worked with The Afternoon Gentlemen, Ghettö, and others. Their unique style perfectly fits such music. PowerXChuck starts this violent story with a funny intro, and then guys quickly … Continue reading PowerXChuck / Ghettö

Statist — … And Joy With Violence)))

Statist is a pretty new band from my home town Kyiv. I was really happy when I heard the promo and caught them on stage. The material was amazingly strong. Sometime later guys finally released a full EP ” … And Joy With Violence)))”. The cover art is odd, ripped off the chicken head, I guess I missed some point, sorry for that. Anyway, the tape looks pretty nice with a simple design, and good sound (which is rare, because the quality depends on many factors of manufacturing). In total, we got 14 songs of grindviolence with some lite metal … Continue reading Statist — … And Joy With Violence)))

Greenmachine – S/T

In the fall of 2020 Japanese legends, Greenmachine showed us a few previous tracks from their new album. These songs were really nice and they also were charged with a massive portion of positive vibes. So I waited and waited, at first, guys released a vinyl version, as you may understand it`s hard to get it from Japan due to some circumstances. So I was super happy to find out that my homies from RobusFellow are making CD and tape versions. Both local versions look so bloody good, I really didn`t expect so top quality of production and sound. This … Continue reading Greenmachine – S/T

Nekrofilth / Unholy Grave

When I heard the rumors about this release I was fucking stocked! Two great bands on 1 vinyl… lovely! Unfortunately, this is 6″ format, and it’s damn short, but we have what we have. This psycho art is hiding 4 minutes of old-school death metal and top-notch grindcore. The first 120 seconds belong to the USA death machine Nekrofilth! Both songs have an unbelievable spirit of the 90th. Fast, noisy, and cheerful metal right into the face! Great riffs, nice tempos not the worst production. The guitar sounds wild, the same I can say about the vocal, that pissed-off style … Continue reading Nekrofilth / Unholy Grave

Deaftrap – S/T

German squad Deaftrap are back with a brand new album! After a really good demo and Asian tour, guys started to work on new material, and finally, it is ready. This full-length is full of dark atmosphere and good riffs. Yes, this is not grindcore, but this cool mix of modern hardcore, sludge, and crust worth listening to. These psychos are playing very well, with fire and live energy. I think the base of this self-titled album is consists of the sub-hardcore genre, that one with a lack of punk but with a lot of breakdowns. Personally, I prefer classical … Continue reading Deaftrap – S/T

Neuro-Visceral Exhumation ‎– Mass Murder Festival

Neuro-Visceral Exhumation is a true and legendary gore act from Brazil. It`s really cool to see that guys are back and working on new stuff, hope it will be released this year. But for today let`s listen to the tape re-issue of their debut album “Mass Murder Festival”. The cassette looks and sounds very solid, Left Hand Patches made a nice job! Unlike the last CD re-issue, this one has original cover art, which is best, in my opinion. There are no bonus tracks or something like that, but who cares? This classical gore album has 19 songs, must say … Continue reading Neuro-Visceral Exhumation ‎– Mass Murder Festival

Oozing / Pharmacist

This blasting CD was the very first thing that I listened to today. Heavy and nasty only these words could describe this release. So what do we got here? The first part belongs to Oozing, which is a new band of Chris (Bouquet, First Days Of Humanity, and others), this is the debut stuff and it`s something different than simple gore. This time that guy surprised us with strong and dirty death metal material. But to be honest, all 5 songs still have grinding vibes. Not fast, with messy and with a heavy sound, this music brings a lot of … Continue reading Oozing / Pharmacist

Hexis – Exstirpo / Exsorbeo

To celebrate their 10-anniversary Danish band Hexis recorded 2 brand new songs and release them in interesting format 6″ vinyl. I won`t say that this is something usual for me because Hexis is playing a weird mix of black metal and hardcore. But on other hand, this stuff is pretty atmospheric and extreme, let`s give it a chance. This small EP has very beautiful and dark cover art (or photo). Don`t know why but such vinyl format is rare and unpopular, maybe European factories simply can`t cut them, with their old equipment. Anyway, let`s get back to Hexis… Can’t say … Continue reading Hexis – Exstirpo / Exsorbeo

Neuroot – Plead Insanity

Do you remember our series about the genres that were a base for grindcore and other extreme genres? Here is another one. This time we`re going to listen to a fresh vinyl of Duch hardcore punkers Neuroot. This is the damn old band they started in the golden era of hardcore punk (1982). And like many old bands, this squad split up after a few years of activity… decades later guys rejoined and started to play again. Originally “Plead Insanity” was released in 1988, guys recorded it before Neuroot was done. But this year German Power It Up re-released this … Continue reading Neuroot – Plead Insanity

Intestinal Disgorge – The Depths of Madness

Texas noisemakers Intestinal Disgorge are well known in the grind underground. Guys love to make experiments and there is no straight line in their discography. Some works sound like hyper-perverted gore, some like brain-melting noise, but this new EP (or let’s call it mini-album) sounds like crazy grindcore. But let me go in order. This CD was released by an old French label Meat 5000 Records. Also, it has more or less usual covert art (as for the gore era of its music). Nothing bright or new, everything made in the way how it should be, but the music of … Continue reading Intestinal Disgorge – The Depths of Madness

Necrotized Mass – Red Death

Italy is not a world grindcore capital, but it has some good bands. There is a small town called Viareggio where is living one interesting man. Michele is his name, and this guy is very active and pretty talented. That is him who created Yakisoba, Carbonized Innocents is his work too, Sociopathic Behavior – yep, and the list of his projects is huge. But for today’s write up I want to concentrate on his latest band Necrotized Mass. “Red Death” is an ode to old bands like Repulsion, early Napalm Death, Deceased, and Impetigo. If you love such moldy tunes, … Continue reading Necrotized Mass – Red Death
