Body Parts – Count the Dead

Body Parts is a new duo featuring New Bedford renaissance man Trevor Vaughn (Wound Man, XFilesX, etc.). The band plays a blend of powerviolence and power electronics fully cognizant of the intrinsic aural similarities between the two genres. Count The Dead sees the space between blasting on powerviolence records typically filled with guitar feedback instead filled with noise. The power electronics aspects have an intuitive understanding of their parallels with the blasting of the drums – and even more so with the blown out growl of the vocals. In emphasizing its two separate elements and their relation to one another, Body Parts differentiates itself from previous hybrids that sought synthesis, like MITB/Bastard Noise, while still evoking the unpredictability and experimentation of the heyday of 90s powerviolence.
