20 years ago, these heroes made their first contact, which was a 7″ split release. To celebrate this lovely anniversary guys decided to make another split (and I think it`s a good idea). Of course, both bands didn`t want to make a boring reissue, so they recorded new songs and used another covert art. Talking about the front image, I think it represents our modern society so much. Blind and blank people who only care about their digital life regardless of what is happening around them. Excellent idea and implementation!
Let me start the noise with a Belgian mince legend Agathocles. First of all, I want to say that this recording differs from most AG materials. 50% of this material was recorded in 2005 with old band members, and more than 10 years later Joe (Archagathus) added more guitar, pitch-shifted vocals and he also made a final sound. Well, these mincing vibrations sound so monstrous! Low and heavy sound, pleasant riffs, and pumping energy! The good guitar sound, bass, drums, and distorted vocal… But these are just dry words, you need to hear these songs to realize the whole spectrum of pleasure! To be honest, this is one of the best AG records at least for the past 5 years!
Swiss masters of disgusting noises Embalming Theatre recorded 11 tracks for this special split. As always guys stayed true to their style, believe me, you`ll be simply destroyed by these chainsaw melodies! The guitar tone is especially dreadful, the bass is not that bright but it makes the whole sound heavier. I think the best sides of this session are its dense structures, loud sound, and gloomy atmosphere. The weirdest song on this side is “Morning Star Brown”, because of the gorgeous traditional Indian singing. ET never disappointed!
