Germany was always a Europinian center of hardcore and powerviolence genres. There are so many crazy bands, starting from the middle 80th and till this day that land produces so many loud and mad bands! Today I want to listen with you to this small but very bright split of Turtle Rage and Xspig. Just like the music on this record, the cover art is dope too. It`s a funny bit childish, but it is 100% consistent with the noise!
Berlin punks of Turtle Rage are opening the A-side. This story begins with very awesome punk rock into, which cheered me up! After, guys smashed me with its aggressive and powerful thrashcore/fastcore. This short session has so much positive energy and great twists! Hysterical vocal sounds great with fast guitar riffs and a strong rhythm section! And everything above is spiced with the samples from the Ninja Turtles cartoons! This stuff is kicking butts!
XSPIG from Bremen represents here more serious tunes. This is very badass powerviolence with all attributes of the genre. Interesting fact, this band has 6 (!!!) members, two vocalists, two guitarists, 1 bass player, and 1 drummer… insane, this is like Iron Maiden, but in another genre, haha! But joking aside. This work has a damn juicy sound with nice production. The sound of the guitars is massive and bone-crushing! Approach with two vocals works wonderfully! The bass is pleasantly heavy (especially in “Pathological Laughter”) and the drums are cool too. I really dug the small bonus in the end, Crossed Out cover sounds very evil!
I honestly think that this is one of the best splits in the genre from last year. The energy and the mood of this record are incredible! If you love to annoy your neighbors with such music, this material will fit you, guaranteed
