The begging of this year brings us this wonderful split. So what we got here? From one side guys from Tennessee (Yautja) with powerful 2 songs and from the other our old friends Chepang (Nepal/New York) with two tracks as well. This small split EP has outstanding art with toxic colors of the cover image and vinyl. This wild color combination looks so good!
Fast and angry the side of Yautja is more than teeth breaking. Good sound production, nice riffs, and a lovely modern grindcore approach. Same as Chepang this is not straight grindcore in usual meaning, there are almost no punk attitudes but this shit could bite. This music is perfect for the mosh, there is a groove, blasts, and tons of energy. Usually, this kind of grind is not my cup of tea, but I really dig this madness. Awesome work!!
This time Chepang managed to create a very atmospheric noise. It still blasting and heavy as fuck… but somehow I feel strong hypnotic power in it. This material has a lot of tribal moments, all of them helped to create this solid groove (especially in the first song). The last track is more chaotic and furious, you need to be prepared for such punch, haha! These Nepalese guys never disappoint!
