Sete Star Sept/Jack

New day – new review, hehe. Today I want to talk about an interesting release with two quite famous bands from Japan and Hungary. I think this split was lost in a massive wave of good releases of 2019. That`s why I want to get back to this vinyl again. So…

Japanese noise freaks SSS are well known in the underground, some people love them, some no. But I think that this duo worth to listen. The material from this split sounds like a live recording from the studio, yes it’s raw, but with very intensive energy. As always everything is poor improvisation. Guys are trying to make summon a demon with their noise, haha! This is not the worst but not the best recording, fast moment are a total mess, and there is nothing special, but when the guys slowed down and you started to hear some tunes from the bass guitar this is it – the best moments in this chaos))) But again, energetically this is really wild stuff!

Jack is the total opposite of SSS. Great heavy sound, clear structures, and pumping aggression. With years guys transformed their style a bit, now their songs have some metal taste, but this is still good old Jack. I like how buzzing and crazy this guitar sounds, same with the vocal (it sounds very pissed off). The bass is not so powerful here, I mean it a bit cluttered with all other instruments, but that is normal. Drums has an old sound and that is perfectly fit for this kind of music. Overall, this is a nice example of grindcore genre.
