Formless Master is a pretty new name on the scene, but don’t be fooled the guys behind this band are very experienced. Featuring members of Gridlink, Mortalized, Deterioration, and Invidiosus this is a real killing machine! They colled their style as a “karate-grind” and you know what, this is the best definition of this music, haha!
First Strike has a typic (as for grindcore genre) artwork. There are so many elements from different but cool Asian movies. Everything looks simple but nice, and I think these types of covers are not the worst. Now let`s see what this US/Japanese team is all about!

The first few seconds here is a sample from some karate movie, it`s suit good but a moment after you will be punched right into the face with a solid portion of a sound! “First Strike” will grab you by the collar and throw you straight into a pit of wild boars. You will be shredded into pieces by this grind! Sometimes odd, sometimes just straight fast and blasting, what a noise! Every actual musical element has a damn high quality. The riffs, drums, and production are all up to scratch. The fast riffs are effectively visceral and energetic, and sure to cause mass brain damage within the skulls of grindcore fans. The drumming is blast heavy, with successfully heavy grooving rhythms.

The 8 blasting minutes get over in a blink of an eye. But I won’t recommend this material for the fans of old-school grindcore, but these who are into experiments, basting madness with sharp sound will dig this EP for sure!
