Goregrind actually became a really popular music genre in the USA. Some of the great new bands from this genre are from there. Bands such as First Days Of Humanity, Heinous, The County Medical Examiners, Acid Feast, and others. And today I want to add a new name to that pack. Septicemic Plague is a one-man band from Richmond (Virginia/USA). That guy started two years ago, but I didn`t see new tunes on his bandcamp, so maybe this project is dead. But anyway we have some good and nasty tunes to listen to, so…
The good side of this record is tunes that don’t bore even after the 100th spinning. Fat distorted bass and filthy guitars are simply awesome. Yes, the riffs are primitive but that`s the way how it should be. The drum kit (I mean the drum machine) sounds cheap, Lo-Fi and raw, but I still love it. Of course pitch-shifted vocal is also here and it sounds monstrous. Needless to say that I feel a strong punk attitude which is nice because it makes this music more cheerful. Also from the good things I want to highlight the pumping energy of this EP.
If you love punky goregrind, you will love this tape.
Rating: 7.5/10 Septicemic Plague bc
