Jack ‎– Vinyl Problems

Hungarian veterans Jack started more than 2 decades ago… since then they managed to play a huge number of gigs and make a solid discography. These maniacs worked hard on their own name and they deserve at least a small discography release. Well that happened in 2017, and that CD get the name “Vinyl Problems”. Not sure why they picked up such name, maybe because all the songs were previously released only on vinyl or maybe because not everyone has a player in their homes, so you’re simply unable to listen it… the reason is still unclear. But anyway we have here 16 song of punching grindcore with big metal and crust influences. So let’s open this lovely digi-pack and charge this CD into the player…

Before writing any into words I listened to “Vinyl Problems” few times. Must say that I have an annoying idea that Jack reminds me Napalm Death. Napalm Death when they make a step from grind. In comparison with old times, Jack uses a lot of death metal influence now. That makes its music more dense, a little bit slower and heavier. Guitars sounds lower, with good power and buzzing vibrations. Maybe it’s only my imagination, but I think that bass sounds more metallic, with clanking crunch. Over the years, the vocals started to sound more harsh, and I like it. Drums are on the same line as guitars… they don’t stand out, on the other hand they are not cluttered, they are simply nice regular drums, absolutely nothing special.
The best part on this CD (for me of course) is the blasting energy of these Hungarian guys. They still have it even after all these years, and that is really cool!
