It’s always good to finish your day with good noise music. My evening ends with this small release of two interesting Canadian bands, Dehumanized Earth and Existench. Both have a lot of experience and both of them know how to make real shit. All songs are damn cool, as cool as this cyberpunk cover art, which I love a lot. This industrial/gloomy image brings good portion of the atmosphere for this split. I want to talk about D.E. at first…
Dehumanized Earth surprised me. These tracks feel and sound different. All of this material sounds more positive than their old records, this noise has more fun. I guess that’s because D.E. changed their line up a little bit. Guys just exchanged with instruments and that transformed band a lot. But harsh riffs, skull breaking d-beat and savage vocals are still there. This is still no-bullshit nihilistic/slightly crust punk in the best traditions!
Next is Existench and they are also one of those bands that made a huge contribution to the Canadian grind underground. They also managed to capture a really good recording with this one, and they play old school grindcore like Repulsion, Agathocles, or Napalm Death, except more blast beats and more punk aggression. Production is a bit raw but honest. Even with not best sound (you know how most of these 7” sounds right?) this small recording full of messy and dirty energy and that is an important thing.
Honestly I don’t want to say much more about this release – I just felt it deserved a review and I highly recommend this to anyone interested in hyperspeed punk, as this sounds like the real deal.
