Today, we’ve got something pretty special! By now, you should all know about To Live A Lie (and if you don’t, you’re fucking up), run by Mr. Will Butler. He’s put out some of the best releases in grind and powerviolence, but this release by Tired of Everything is special – it’s got the man himself on vocals!
Let’s take a look at the package – the whole thing is really simplistic (which is never a bad thing); it gets down to business. The front is just some black and white art with the band name, and the inside is a photo of the band and the lyrics to the songs. I don’t need anything fancy, personally 🙂
On to the tunes – this release is 5 songs, clocking in at 6 minutes and change. It starts off with a guitar ringing out, and within a few seconds, we’re right into a guitar riff and a drum fill before the rest of the band and the vocals kick in. This is some straight hardcore punk here, with no filler, and all of the energy and attitude you’d expect. The band hits hard, and you can tell they’re pissed off. If that wasn’t apparent – take a look at the lyrics. With subjects like gentrification, animal abuse, sexual assault, and mental health, these guys have something to say.
I hope these guys wind up putting out a full length – they’d take my money. You’ve gotta love some old fashioned pissed off hardcore with something to say.
