Always Never Fun / Forged (Grindpromotion Records)

This split is a pretty nice piece. Each band comes with a different variation of poverviolence, each one has some time to blast, but not enough time to become monotonous and boring as it probably would be if it were full length, for example.

Italian punks from ANF start out this split with some of their wildest tunes. “Plastic Ground” was a great choice to begin this set. It’s fast, sometimes groovy, and furious. Don`t get me wrong – all of the next tracks are cool too. Especially “Pollution Nightmare” with its pumping grinding energy and a few swing hardcore elements. This recording session has nice not overloaded sound, hardcore punk juice and good riffs. Drums, guitar and bass are working together well and loud… so what else do you need from pv/hardcore band?)

Forged play a very punchy style of powerviolense that shows plenty of influence from Crossed Out and Despise you. Each song follows the same formula – few second of blasting and grinding noise and then everything slower down to deep and groove tunes, than it blast again. Nothing new you say? Maybe, but Forged plays its “music” incredibly intensive and fast. The sound is heavier than ANF has, riffs are a bit faster and angrier. This music is freaking aggressive and if you want to much your negative emotions out, this is really a soundtrack for that.
